An astounding number of 140 plus Trentini members and friends were present at Casa Ricca on Friday, November 22, for our annual Hunters’ dinner to feast on savoury stew along with a heaping plate of polenta and cabbage salad. As usual, this was followed by a number of delicious sweets, and for this we extend a thank you to all the ladies for their generosity. A heartfelt thanks and credit is due to a great number of hardworking volunteers who made this hugely successful event possible – chief cook Elda Morettin, Frank Morettin for the preparation, Sandro Cologna who procured the meat, and the many others who assisted in the cooking, preparations, serving and cleaning. A great time was had by all.

Friday October 26th a big group of Toronto, Welland and Eastern Ontario Trentini participated in the weekend of celebrations for the 90th Anniversary of the Solvay Tirol Club. Friday night was the traditional food of polenta, potato polenta, crauti, salsice, pork roast, beef stew, veal gravy and wonderful desserts. Capacity crowd of 275 people. Dancing to a DJ. The Solvay version of our shotski using a hockey stick. Saturday night we took over all the Embassy Suite Hotel banquet area for the more formal gala. Great gifts. Dinner of chicken schnitzel, roast beef, salmon, pasta, etc… Dancing to a band. Over the weekend we enjoyed the manager’s reception at the Embassy Suites. Sunday was Mass at St. Cecilias and then the long drive home ! It was wonderful connecting with other Trentini ! We are looking forward to the 95th celebrations and they are looking forward to our 55th in March !
